God is Good!
We had a great weekend, just hanging out with our family. Saturday Jon got home from the fire station and we decided to pack up and head to the zoo. We haven't been since Sawyer was about 2 (even though its only about 20 minutes from our house!) It was pretty crowded, but not terrible. Sawyer loved seeing the different animals, as did the girls (what they could see). The girls also said two new words while we were there, giraffe and elephant. So cute! On Sunday we went to church and afterwards went to MeMe's (Jon's mom) house. Ray, Dawn, and Avery were there for lunch and play time afterwards. The kids play pretty well together. They of course have their moments, but all in all they do well. We came home for nap time, for all of us. :) After nap, the kids played and I realized how blessed we are. We may not have a lot of material things, but we do have a lot of love in our family. We have wonderful, happy, healthy kids and I could not ask for a better husband. God is Good!

Swimming
We went to PawPaw's (Jon's Dad) for Father's Day and spent the afternoon in the pool. Sawyer loved it of course, but didn't want to try to really learn how to swim. We just don't spend enough time in a pool for him to really learn. Swimming lessons may be in order. We put the girls in their floats. Izzy wanted out of hers immediately, but Livie stayed in her float for a while before wanting out. They liked being in the water and were pooped when we left.

Sawyer's 1st "Big Boy" tooth
I know every parent says this, but I can't believe how fast the time goes by. I was tickling Sawyer in the floor the other night and as he was laughing, I happened to notice something in his mouth. So I examined it more closely and saw that it was his first permanent tooth poking through! I couldn't believe it. He hasn't lost any of his baby teeth, nor are they loose. I guess I just wasn't expecting for him to have a permanent tooth at 5 years old. We are also concerned since none of his baby teeth have come out yet. So there will be a trip to the dentist in our near future just to check things out.

May 09
Ok, I've been really bad about keeping up with this blog. Hopefully I'll do better. May was a great month for us, very very busy! Sawyer played T-ball again and had a great time! He has improved so much since last fall. I love watching him play (when I'm not chasing the girls). The girls are into everything, but I enjoy watching them interact and develop new skills. They are talking more and more. Jon and I went to Biltmore again on Mother's Day. It was so beautiful! We had a great time and enjoyed a little alone time. More to come...

Let it Snow!
We had our first snow of the season, a whopping 2 inches. Even though we didn't get very much, Sawyer enjoyed it. He loved throwing snowballs at us and making a snowman with Jon. The girls did not like sitting in the snow at all, but were ok if we held them. We walked down to the creek behind our house and it was beautiful with the snow covering the banks. I hope we will get more snow since Sawyer loves it so much.

Hi and Welcome!

Hi everyone! This is my first blogging attempt, so bear with me. I hope this is a way for everyone to keep up with our family. Well, we're all doing great. Sawyer is in Pre-K and loves school. He has homework regularly and doesn't have a problem with any of it. He has several friends at school. One of his friends invited him to go to Monster Jam (monster truck show) last weekend. He had such a great time and got to meet the driver of his favorite truck, Gravedigger. He was so excited and is still talking about it a week later. Olivia and Isabelle are growing and evolving every day. I can't believe how much they change in just a short amount of time. They are 14 months old now and amaze me every day. They aren't walking yet, but they can definitely get anywhere they want to go. Olivia has taken a couple of steps, but I don't really think she understands what she is doing. Isabelle would rather crawl, because she can go faster that way. They love books and regularly empty the bookshelf and look at their books. Olivia has her own little language and "talks" almost non-stop. She says "mama," "dada," "uh-oh," "bye-bye," and "baby." Isabelle also says "mama," "dada," "bye-bye," and "baby" plus "hey." They make me smile and laugh every day and it makes it all worthwhile.
